8 Fun Fall Date Ideas - These are SO great! REPIN to save for later! Love the homemade caramel apples idea!
 Written by Cathy Busby
The air is crisp and fall has officially arrived. Here are 8 creative date ideas that will help you enjoy fall to the fullest, all while nurturing your marriage.

1. Haunted corn maze

Getting lost in a maze at night is almost as fun as getting lost in your spouse’s eyes! And a haunted maze is an even better idea. It’s a good time to collaborate when deciding which way to go, and holding hands will help make sure you stay together when you are running away from zombies.

2. Homemade caramel apples

Crank up your favorite Pandora station and become dessert connoisseurs together in the kitchen. There are endless possibilities for homemade caramel apples – look up ideas from companies like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and try to replicate what dips and toppings you use. Who knows, one of you may even get some chocolate on your face that needs to be licked off…

3. Bookstore scavenger hunt

Head to the closest bookstore for a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style date. You’ll race around the store finding books that have specific challenges, such as a recipe you want to try, a funny joke, a place you want to visit, a favorite book you read as a child, etc. There are tons of challenge ideas on Pinterest to help you create your scavenger hunt. You can even make it a rule that you have to give each other a kiss any time you pass each other in the bookstore. Finish off the date with a “show and tell” to share what books you discovered. You might even round out the night with a yummy seasonal drink, like hot chocolate or apple cider.

4. Scenic drive and picnic dinner

One of the most beautiful things about fall is the changing of the leaves and the beautiful colors! Drive up a canyon or down a highway to bask in the beauty and majesty of nature. Pack a picnic dinner and spontaneously stop when you see an area that you can lay out a blanket on and eat. Don’t forget the sparkling cider to make the dinner extra romantic!

5. Pumpkin carving

Channel your inner artist and have a friendly competition to see who can create the best character couple or self-portrait. Or carve a love note or symbol for your spouse if you are up to the challenge. After you are done, roast the pumpkin seeds for a sweet or savory treat.

6. High school football game

Rewind in time and relive the glory days! Okay, not really. Instead, support your local high school by attending a football game and feel like you’ve hopped into Friday Night Lights. Make sure you bring a blanket to cuddle up together in, and men, put your arm around your lady to let everyone there know she is yours, and to feel like you are teenagers again.

7. Fall hike

There’s nothing like the cool, crisp air of fall – so take advantage of it by planning a hike and holding hands along the way. Hiking gives you quality time to talk while soaking in sunshine. Fall in love all over again when you ask each other the 36 Questions That Will Help You Fall in Love With Your Spouse Again.

8. Watch an old scary movie, like “Wait Until Dark” or “Rear Window”

What better way to snuggle up to your spouse than a scary movie! Turn off the lights, grab some popcorn, and enjoy some good, clean fun that isn’t going to send you to bed with nightmares. And the end result may or may not be some cuddling as you drift off to sleep…
